Making a texture
Step 1. Download from Hybrid Genesis for any pattern you like. Then go to TEOL and grab a big texture that is very blurry and blended.Step 2. CNTRL+N or File-->New to get a new image file. Then save the .pat file from the Hybrid Genesis you downloaded and load it from the pattern tool. (Select the paint bucket, then on the navigation area, change "Foreground" to "Pattern".) Then select the pattern you'd like to fill your whole texture with and pattern-paint away!
Step 3. Then overlay a blended texture you got from TEOL and copy it and paste it onto the file you have as a new layer.
Step 4. In the layers box (or however you'd like to do it), select Linear Burn and 70% for opacity.
Step 5. Basically, the simple texture is created from the resources you took from the two sites. You may experiment more with it. Also, please remember to credit; it is always nice and appreciated by everyone and is lawful.
P: I hope you've learned something, and feel free to be happy with Photoshop [by using more tools].
